Valentino Rossi is not the only (ex) motorcyclist to liven up the Imola weekend, Dani Pedrosa is also on the Italian circuit to drive the Huracán in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo. The Spanish rider, KTM’s MotoGP tester, was interviewed by our colleagues at Motorsport.com (video above).
The transition to four wheels for Dani happened almost by chance.
“I was in Misano to do a test for KTM and a friend asked me if I wanted to test with the Lamborghini, it happened and I appreciated – he explained – I was supposed to do a race in Abu Dhabi, but it was cancelled, so we thought of doing 3 to get more excited. I like to learn new things, I know the race but it’s totally different here, I have fun. Even if I look even more in the mirrors than in front – he joked – There’s so much to learn.”
Although he is at the wheel this weekend, Pedrosa will certainly follow the Argentine GP, hoping that KTM replicates the results of Qatar and Mandalika.
“It was two good races with Binder and Oliveira, they rode very well – was his comment – But we have to wait, the championship still has to find its balance. Other top riders have made a mistake, everything has yet to work out, but it’s better to start well than to recover”.
Dani will drive the Lamborghini, as well as at Imola, also in rounds at Misano and Portimao. Will there also be a joker in MotoGP?
“I don’t know, we haven’t talked about it yet” he has answered.
