MotoGP in India in 2024? MotoGP India 2024 on the cards?
News that no one saw coming, MotoGP could be heading to India. No, it’s not an old-fashioned April Fool’s joke. The biggest two-wheeled competition in the world, with Motot2, Moto3 and even MotoE, could be heading to Indian shores by 2024.
The news comes from a News 18 exclusive, who claims to have sources inside. The same publication also claims that the announcement will be made by Carmelo Ezpeleta, general manager of Dorna in a week and that the feasibility of a MotoE race will depend on the preparation of the circuit in time.
What particularly piqued our interest was the fact that there is also a second confirmation that comes from a highly respected and credible source. British journalist, Mat Oxley, appears to have approved of the news, citing a privileged source.
As far as venue goes, everyone’s best bet seems to be Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh – the same circuit that hosted Formula 1 in 2012. Pending an official update, here’s how Indian twitter looks like reacting to the news.
