Mitsubishi enters Triton pickup in Asia Cross Country Rally

This year’s Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) will see a one-ton Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck take part in Southeast Asia’s grueling off-road motorsport event.

The pickup, known in other markets as the L200, will compete under the Team Mitsubishi Ralliart banner, a private team owned by TANT Sports in Thailand, with Mitsubishi itself providing technical support.

Hiroshi Masuoka – two-time Dakar Rally champion – has been named team manager.

“For many years, Mitsubishi Motors has participated in the World Rally Championship and the Dakar Rally, winning championships in both cases and improving the driving performance of Mitsubishi cars that can be enjoyed with peace of mind in all conditions. weather or traffic,” says Masuoka. .

While details of the AXCR, which will be held August 6-12, have yet to be announced, the majority of stages are usually held in Thailand.
