John Terry makes rallying call at Aston Villa ahead of Man City
The former Villa assistant has issued a rallying call as part of a birthday message to Emi Martinez.
Former Aston Villa defender and assistant manager John Terry has issued a rallying call for the Bordeaux and Blues ahead of their Premier League game against Manchester City on Saturday night.
Villa currently sit 19th in the table after a torrid start to the season that saw them claim just one win and with the pressure on manager Steven Gerrard mounting, Terry sent the team on a mini team conference through Twitter.
In a tweet which was actually sent as a happy birthday message to Villa’s number one, Emi Martinez – the former Chelsea captain urged the Argentine to bring the Villans to ‘put on a great performance’ against the current champions of the Premier League on Saturday.
Villa will need more than a big performance to take anything from City who have once again started the campaign like a house on fire.
The Citizens remain unbeaten and have already found the net 19 times, not thanks to summer signing Erling Haaland who bagged nine himself.
Gerrard’s men, meanwhile, have just one win and three points to their name and sit second in the table heading into the game.
