MÉTALLIANCE announces an order for 12 Multi-

Sydney Metro Construction Service Vehicles

West in Australia

Delivery of the vehicles will begin at the end of 2022

METALLIANCE (EURONEXT ACCESS FR0010492181), a subsidiary of the GAUSSIN Group specializing in the design and manufacture of industrial equipment and mobile machinery, announces an order for 12 Multi-Service Vehicles (MSV) on tires from the joint venture between Acciona Construction Australia Pty Ltd and Ferrovial Construction (Australia) Pty Ltd (AFJV). These vehicles are intended for the construction of the Sydney Metro West – Central Tunneling Package in Australia. They will be delivered from the end of 2022.

A technology with multiple advantages

The AFJV, responsible for carrying out the Central Tunneling Package – from The Bays to the Sydney Olympic Park – entrusted METALLIANCE with the supply of 12 multi-service vehicles, recognized for their ability to adapt to the needs of the project. These MSVs are the Swiss army knives of mobile construction logistics vehicles. They will be used to transport the more than 70,000 concrete segments that line the twin 11-kilometre tunnels, as well as to move construction personnel and other equipment through the sites.

A MÉTALLIANCE Multi-Service Vehicle (MSV)

A long-standing trust between METALLIANCE and its Australian partners

This order is part of a process of renewed trust between MÉTALLIANCE and its partners in Australia. To date, over 40 METALLIANCE vehicles have been supplied for the first two stages of Sydney Metro construction. Production was already ramping up in 2017 as 25 vehicles were supplied by MÉTALLIANCE that year, compared to 15 vehicles in 2013.

More specifically, for the Northwest Rail Link project (renamed Sydney Metro Northwest), MÉTALLIANCE delivered 9 TSP50s, 2 VMS25s and 4 Menrider 20Cs. And for the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project linking the north and south-west of the city via the Sydney business district, METALLIANCE delivered 11 TSP50s, 6 VMS30s, 5 Menrider 20Cs and 3 maintenance VMSs.

A structuring project for the Australian metropolis

The project in which METALLIANCE is involved is of national importance since it is part of the new metro network serving the economic capital of Australia. Sydney Metro’s first fully automated line opened in 2019 and has 13 stations over 36 kilometers of dual, mostly underground tracks. Work is underway to extend the network by 2024 with the planned completion of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project, which when completed will mean that Sydney will have 66 kilometers of metro with 31 stations. By 2030, two other routes will also have been completed, serving Western Sydney and the new Western Sydney Airport.

Sydney, Australia’s largest city, is the first and currently the only city in the country to have a fully automated rapid transit system.

Our company is delighted to be involved in such a large-scale project in Australia, which will improve service to the economic capital of the country. Known for having invented the train with pneumatic wheels, and present today on very large construction sites throughout the world, METALLIANCE is proud of the range of its technologies as well as the know-how of its teams. This ability to respond flexibly and creatively to the needs of its customers enables it to intervene today on this demanding project, the usefulness of which is recognized locally.“, said Jean ClaudeCOTHENET, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MÉTALLIANCE.
