F1: Ride with ‘THE BOSS’

Nine-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb will be giving a select group of racing enthusiasts in Bahrain the experience of a lifetime today…a ride in the Prodrive Hunter, driven by the champion himself!

The most successful driver in the history of the World Rally Championship (WRC), the 47-year-old Frenchman has won the WRC title nine times and has won more WRC rally victories, podiums and stage wins than any other driver.

The Prodrive Hunter, a custom-built rally car that made its debut in the 2021 Dakar Rally, was specially designed for Bahrain Raid Xtreme (BRX), a partnership between the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund, Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company and the leading motorsport world. company, Prodrive – who built the car.

Guests at the guest-only event, to be held in a specially designated area near Bahrain’s historic natural landmark, the Tree of Life, will be treated to a series of thrill rides, led by Loeb in the four-wheeler power car, powered by a 3.5-liter turbocharged gasoline V6 engine.

Loeb rode the Hunter to a second-place finish behind Qatar’s Nasser Al Attiyah on last month’s 2022 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia.

David Richards, the chairman of Prodrive who co-founded the British company in 1984, will be among those attending the event where the Hunter will be put through its paces several times for different passengers, who will no doubt disembark afterwards to find their legs . apparently rubber.

BRX has redesigned the car to meet new T1+ regulations introduced this year by the FIA, the international motorsport governing body. The regulations necessitated significant modifications to the Hunter’s suspension and bodywork, half of which were reshaped. The body has been redesigned by Callum Designs, led by Ian Callum, one of the world’s leading car designers of the past 30 years. Callum redesigned the Hunter to accommodate the new regulations, while maintaining its original, distinctive look.

Loeb, considered the greatest rally driver of all time, has, in addition to his WRC victories, also won a gold medal at the RallyCross X Games. He scored a podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and notched three Dakar Rally podiums and 15 stage wins. He also won the last round of the Extreme E championship.

Immediately after giving lucky souls in Bahrain the treat of a lifetime, Loeb will travel to Neom in Saudi Arabia to compete in the first round of the 2022 Extreme E series with Formula 1 legend, Briton’s X44 team Lewis Hamilton.

Respectfully nicknamed “The Boss” by his admiring peers and millions of fans, Loeb hopes to lead BRX to its first major success by winning this year’s inaugural FIA World-Rally Raid Championship.

Prodrive, ranked among the world’s leading motorsport and engineering groups, designs, builds and races cars for companies and teams such as VW, MINI and Aston Martin.

The company’s trophy chest includes six FIA World Rally titles, six Le Mans titles, nine FIA World Sports Car titles and five British Touring Car titles.

Prodrive was also the 2020 Le Mans and FIA WEC GT Constructors’ and Drivers’ Champion, and finished runner-up in the inaugural 2021 Extreme E Championship, running the X44 team on behalf of Hamilton.
