Chicago-area real estate agents rally to raise money for Highland Park victims
As the community of Highland Park, along with the rest of the nation, mourns the tragic event that took place on the 4th of July, estate agents are stepping up to help support the victims and their families.
The North Shore-Barrington Association of REALTORS® (NSBAR), which includes a number of community members who attended the parade and who have offices in the Highland Park central business district, issued a statement and announced a fundraising through NSBAR Cares, a non-profit philanthropic organization set up by the association. The association accepts donations from all donors, whether they are an NSBAR or work in the real estate industry, and will match all donations dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000.
“We mourn with our neighbors and colleagues who have been so deeply affected by this horrific mass shooting incident – especially the families of those who lost loved ones or were injured in the event,” the statement said. association in a press release. “We salute the first responders and volunteers who were on the scene – and moved quickly to help victims and prevent further loss of life… and potentially greater tragedy. We know that our extended NSBAR family was particularly affected by this horrific event in incredibly personal ways, a number of whom participated in or attended this parade with their friends, families and colleagues.
NSBAR also, through its partnership with the Highland Park Community Foundation, ensures that all donations will go directly to local causes in Highland Park that support victims and survivors.
“Like all of us at the NSBAR, we always treat everything ourselves…and do everything we can to support our members…their families…and the communities we serve during this exceptionally difficult time,” the NSBAR statement added. .
